There is a salt lake in Tanzania, Africa, that is so alkaline, it turns animals that perish in it to stone.
Visit Nick's website to see stunning animal portraits and his amazing work about the disappearing wildlife in East Africa. Absolutely stunning.
Eve Ventrue is a German freelance concept artist and illustrator. Her work is absolutely magic. Words fail me. I can only look at it open-mouthed and go WOW!
I just discovered this artist and I find his paintings to be very inspiring. Brad Kunkle lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. His CV says that the themes of his paintings explore intuition and following one's own nature as well as feminine energies. I think I can see that. Intuition is very much a feminine energy and I can see the destructive male energy in these vortices of dead leaves. I can see the nature of two opposing energies and women's struggle to find a balance.
Make sure to check out the amazing video projection onto one of Brad's paintings on his website under Installations. It is utterly beautiful.
I love art that tells a story. Art that takes you on a journey, a daydream in which to wonder what the story is and where it might go from the moment that is captured in the piece. For this reason, concept art is one of my favourite art forms.
Raphael Lacoste is one of the leading concept artists around. His work in the gaming industry and his matte paintings for films are outstanding. He is a real story teller.
Noell is a visual artist from Budapest, Hungary. Her self-portraits are photo composites in black and white. I absolutely love the aesthetic of her compositions, the lines and shapes and value changes. While the camera is her tool and photography her medium she makes a point in not wanting to be called a photographer. It is the creative process of compositing a number of her pictures in post-production into a work of art that she loves most. She's an image maker of rare talent and I can't wait to see more of her work.
