Lourens Alma-Tadema (1836-1912) was a Dutch painter famous for his depictions of Classical Antiquity. What I most admire, and indeed what Alma-Tadea was famous for, is his painting of architecture. The way he brought marbel to life and the incredible detail of his works are fantastic. In 1870 he moved to London, England and so becomes another one of my favourite Victorian painters.
