I absolutely love everything about this series. Vanessa's creativity and skill are outstanding and the portraits themselves are hauntingly beautiful. I can't get enough of this body of work.

These small paintings are sketched in the pages of a small copy of the Book of Kells. Each page is approximately 4.5x6". Most sketches are a combination of acrylic, graphite, sanding, scraping with a razor blade, patterns showing through from the pages beneath, and some text showing through as well.
